What is a redirect?
A redirect automatically sends visitors from one URL to another. These are essential when a page is moved, renamed, or removed, as they help visitors avoid "Page Not Found" errors.
Redirect types
301 Permanent
Best for pages that have moved indefinitely (for example, you renamed a page or replaced an old promotion with a new one).
302 Temporary
Best for short-term changes, such as seasonal campaigns or temporary maintenance.
Create a redirect
- Open the website builder.
- Press the main menu icon in the left corner of the top navigation bar.
- Select Settings.
4. Under Advanced Settings, select Redirects.
5. Press the + Add a redirect button.
To configure your redirect:
1. In the From field, enter the old URL path you want to redirect visitors from.
Please note: This URL must not be in use by an existing page. If it is, change or remove that page’s URL first.
2. In the To field, select an existing page on your site or enter an external URL.
3. Choose the redirect type: 301 Permanent for a permanent move or 302 Temporary for a temporary move.
4. Press Save.
Please note: You must press Publish in the website builder for your changes to go live. Until the site is published, the redirect won’t be active.
