The Website status settings allow you to control your website’s visibility and manage which domain name visitors use to access your site.
Open the site settings
- Open the website builder.
- Click the main menu icon located in the top left corner of the top bar.
- Select Settings.
4. In the Common settings area, select Website status.
Site visibility
Use the Site visibility dropdown to control your website’s public access.
- Online: Your website is visible to all visitors.
- Offline: Your website is hidden from the public. This is helpful when building your site, making major updates, or preparing content before launch.
Setting a preferred domain
If multiple domain names are connected to your website, selecting a "preferred" domain ensures your site has one consistent address. This prevents visitors and search engines from accessing multiple versions of your site (for example, mywebsite.com vs. www.mywebsite.com).
To set a preferred domain:
- Find the Preferred domain dropdown.
- Select the domain name you want visitors to see in their browser.
- Enable Always redirect to preferred domain. This ensures that even if a visitor enters a different connected domain, they’ll be automatically redirected to your chosen primary address.
